Beethoven Folk Songs Project: Brown Bag-It concert in October went very well and was enthusiastically recieved by the audience! Good for rare music. We have a repeat concert, possibly in January. We will also be playing these songs with additional songs at the OK Music Festival in June. Stay tuned for these dates!
The BUS Concert Fri, October 26th (blankets underware and socks, donated to Tulsa Shelter for the Homeless) was succesful! Some of the pieces we played with The Joesf Glaude Group were "Stairway to Heaven for Folk Instruments" (Fiddle, Ukelele, banjo, acoustic guitar and acoustic bass), "Something" (by the Beatles), and "Dust in the Wind" for violin and guitar.
Concert Honors Irv Coretz
A special chamber music concert was presented at Zarrow Manor in October honoring the memory of Irv Coretz, who passed away earlier this year.
Violinist James Ruggles, shown with Molly Coretz, was featured during the evening along with several other musicians on various instruments. Irv and Ruggles had performed together at TJRHCC in October 2006. A Reception followed the concert.
A founding member of the Tucson civic opera, Irv moved to Arizona to attend the University of Arizona after graduating from the University of Illinois and receiving a master's degree in piano.
Irv and Molly moved into the Villas at Zarrow Campus in early 2006
